…location was beautiful, the food was amazing, the facility was perfect…
A few words from the mother of a groom Two weeks ago today our son was married. It was a special time in all of our lives. Being fairly new to the valley, Brett and Brynn had no clue where to start in planning their wedding. After looking at many, many venues they found Foothills Golf Club. Yes, the location was beautiful, the food was amazing, the facility was perfect for their small intimate ceremony and reception...but it was YOU [Laurie] that made the difference. From the moment Marv and I met you, we were very convinced that they had chosen the appropriate location. Keep in mind that after learning that they had selected a venue 50+ miles away from our homes we were convinced that the two of them were out of their minds. With the size of the wedding party and number of guests, we felt it should be at our home or at a nearby venue. Little did we know the joke would be on us! Not only did Laurie prove to have the priceless experience to lead them on their journey of planning, but also her patient, sweet, loving nature made the process enjoyable. She was so organized and thorough making sure every detail was exactly what they wanted to ensure that their day was a dream come true. Even when our shuttles were delayed in getting us all to the venue, and knowing we were on a deadline to rehearse, drink, eat and meet the return shuttle, Laurie remained the calm reassuring anchor that all of us needed. Even providing me with a needle and thread (Laurie even threaded it as I couldn't see), she left no stone unturned on the day of the ceremony. Laurie and the Foothills team was the core of determining the success of a very special day and provided a sense of call to all of us involved. Future brides, grooms, and their families will be blessed to have YOU [and Foothills Golf Club] as a part of their memories. Thank you seems so insignificant, but please know how very much appreciated YOU are by all of us! Marv and Karen Brett and Brynn Gudeman
Convenience, Variety and Outstanding Service for Days at LACENTRE
South Asian weddings traditionally include multiple days of celebration and several pre-wedding events leading to the ceremony and reception finale. There are often three days of large-scale events, with 400 guests on average, in addition to two days of smaller intimate celebrations. Working with clients to plan their ceremony and reception, the pre-wedding events came up. The clients had decided to host the wedding ceremony and reception at LACENTRE, but had not chosen the venue(s) for the other events. The bride had a list of venues that she wanted to explore. However her father suggested that they consider LACENTRE for the three days of events. Her father pointed out LACENTRE’s great reputation within the South Asian community and how convenient it would be to work with one venue/planner. The bride was reluctant. She wanted each event to feel different from the next with special touches that would surprise the guests. She loved LACENTRE’s ballroom, especially the chandeliers, and wanted her guests to be wowed when they came in for the final, grand celebration. Our sales and planning team shared ideas of how the facility could be transformed to create many unique events. The open space and ability to place a dance floor in any location would allow the bride to have different layouts each day. We introduced our in-house audio/visual team who could customize lighting displays to transform the ballroom with color and patterns. LACENTRE could assist with arranging chair covers and linens to enhance the space further. Our Chef could offer a variety of cuisines to compliment the traditional South Asian menu. Each event’s theme and ambiance was coming together. In the end, three days of exciting events were booked. Our clients, along with their guests, were thrilled with each. The planning process was streamlined by working with one venue and planner, the guests, who included many out of state and country, enjoyed the convenience of finding their way to just one nearby venue. The bride was delighted with the variety of options available at LACENTRE to make each event special and memorable.
Brandywine Country Club Hosts Totally Rad Events, Dude
At Brandywine Country Club we host every kind of special event. Weddings are our specialty, and we have many corporate groups and civic organizations that meet regularly at the club. But one particular special event stands out as a fantastic success despite Mother Natures attempts to foil our plans. Lial Catholic School is located here in the Toledo area. Every year they host a fundraising event that helps support various activities and programs at the school. The event was scheduled at Brandywine in our Main Ball Room on February 26th. It was a perfect date because it is a slow time of year for athletic events and there were no other conflicting fundraisers on that night. Their goal was to get as many people here as possible. The theme for the night was the 80's. We were happy to help with the planning and developed a menu of 80's inspired grazing stations complete with "Flock of Seagulls Wings" "Real Men Don't Eat Mini Quiche" "Thriller Carving Station" and "Miami Vice's Seafood Station." We ordered throwback beverages like Bartles and James Wine Coolers and Little Kings Beer, plus we made Jell-O shots for one of their raffle tables. We helped them order linens in hot pink and lime green and they found cutouts of famous 80's celebrities. They had secured over 150 auction items and with the use of our glass centerpieces they created 80's decorations on all the tables and we followed suit by decorating all the grazing stations in bright neon colors. Their team of decorators, volunteers and the auction committee was scheduled to load in and set up on Friday before the Saturday night function. They planned to spend all day transforming the Ball Room to a "Totally Awesome" 80's playground. On Thursday morning I got a call from their Development Director, and she was in a state of panic. The forecast for Friday was calling for 8 to 12 inches of snow. Now, a February event seemed like a bad time to plan such a detailed and labor-intensive event. But Brandywine came to the rescue. We quickly moved the event that was scheduled in their room on Thursday to a different room within the club. We set the room for Saturday's event and they began to load in by noon on Thursday. Everyone chipped in to get the room set by the time the first flakes began to fall Thursday evening. Friday morning, we woke up to 8 inches of new snow on the ground, all the schools were canceled, and our County had declared a "Snow Emergency.” But as our client wrote in her survey, "Thanks to Brandywine's flexibility, quick thinking and incredibly helpful staff we were able to finish our set-up before the snow came." By Saturday evening the snow was cleared and everyone made it to the party. She concluded, "Our fundraiser was a huge success and a lot of fun. We are very thankful that we choose Brandywine, we will definitely be back!"
